The long-term friendship between a German hot spring resort and Nagayu Onsen is behind the establishment of this hot spring complex. Kur in German means a stay at a hot spring for health and relaxation. Kur Park Nagayu is a spa that features a walking pool, a restaurant offering natural food cooked with local specialty ingredients, and comfortable accommodations. Rental bathing suits are available, and the restaurant is open to non-stay guests, too.
The building was designed by Shigeru Ban, winner of the 2014 Pritzker Architecture Prize. The roof, supported by four large posts, harmonizes beautifully with the surrounding scenery.

「クア（Kur）」はドイツ語で「療養、保養のための滞在」を意味しており、歩行浴も可能な温泉施設、地元食材を利用した自然食レストラン、宿泊棟を完備しています。オリジナル水着のレンタルや、食事のみの利用も可能です。
建築デザインは2014年、建築分野の国際的な賞であるプリツカー賞を受賞した坂茂氏が手がけたもので、４本の丸太が連続して支え合うクアハウスの屋根の構造が、周辺の風景と美しく調和しています。
